On Friday, November 30, the Menil Collection will gather
friends, new and old, for the

25th Anniversary Celebration in Blue
Only the third such event in the museum’s history, this grand fête marks the beginning of a weekend filled with stimulating, diverse programming and an international presence, reflecting the unique position the Menil holds within the art world.
Inspired by the work of French twentieth-century pioneer Yves Klein (1928-1962), the theme of the event references the artist’s innovative exploration of perception, performance, consciousness, and transcendence through his monochromatic IKB (International Yves Klein Blue) paintings, sculptures, and avant-garde conceptual works.  Klein’s ambitious spirit and incomparable creative output had an  indelible impact on the trajectory of modern art, and several of his signature works reside in the Menil’s permanent collection.
We invite you to join us as we invoke the verve and passion of Klein and the de Menils to celebrate this important moment in the museum’s history, and look toward its future.
